E-commerce is innovative, agile and rapidly developing. As a result, the demands on shop operators and their IT infrastructures are growing. This includes the ERP. Originally not made for the online world, it differs greatly from modern e-commerce systems in terms of speed and flexibility. Traditional core areas of an ERP are production planning, material procurement and accounting, where other data formats and processes are required.

These differences mean that ERP and e-commerce systems are still perceived as two separate worlds in many companies. As such, cooperation between the two may faulter. For example, missing interfaces lead to poor product data management, outdated customer data, delayed data reconciliation and process interruptions. The manual effort required to solve such problems can be massive. This disrupts not only internal processes, but also the customer journey.

Claims of digital commerce

Digital commerce constantly offers new sales channels, payment methods and ordering options. It must keep pace with changing consumer behaviour and technological innovations and react quickly to rising expectations. In order to be able to map corresponding processes smoothly, this requires that the e-commerce systems used and the ERP form an overall system. How can this be achieved, despite all the procedural and systemic differences?

One solution is the ROQQIO Commerce Cloud, which integrates into the existing system architecture and adds missing or inadequate functions and processes. This connects the ERP world with digital commerce - time-consuming and cost-intensive modifications to existing systems are no longer necessary. With the ROQQIO Commerce Cloud, even legacy systems and IT infrastructures that have grown over time can be made e-commerce-enabled and thus digital state-of-the-art concepts can be implemented that enable stationary trade to get involved in online trading with low investment and a fast time-to-market.

Advantages of a complete system

  • Uniform database for more efficiency
  • Smooth process sequences
  • High degree of automation, manual work is minimized
  • Agile development dynamics for more growth
  • Perfect basis for omnichannel processes

Benefit of the overall system: Omnichannel commerce

Today’s customers do not think in channels and expect a seamless shopping experience: They get inspiration on Instagram, buy in the online shop and have the goods delivered to the store for trying on. Or they buy on their preferred marketplace and expect the same product information and reliable stock levels. That shows: Silo solutions for online and offline trade are obstacles in this respect. The ROQQIO Commerce Cloud removes such boundaries and combines all trade, shipping, storage and logistics processes in a central system. As such, it paves the way to omnichannel commerce - and to successful customer experiences.
