If you want to control around 300 branches centrally, you need a software solution that you can rely on. The chain store Jeans Fritz relies on IT support from Höltl Retail Solutions. Already since the year 2000.

Tradition, a down-to-earth attitude, and consistency are the basis of the company philosophy of Jeans Fritz, a company based in Hüllhorst, Germany. Today, the company’s approximately 300 branches form an integral part of the German fashion trade. 1,600 employees advise on jeans washing, fit and size. Jeans Fritz works almost exclusively with its own brands For Friends, Multiblu, Tom Tompson and TOM, which are developed in the Jeans-Fritz creative department.

Reliability is one of the criteria for Jeans Fritz when choosing important business partners, as well as for information technology. In the year 2000, they decided to introduce software from the company Höltl Retail Solutions, Bad Hersfeld - a partnership that continues to this day.

Click & Collect for flexible Buying

"Höltl has always taken up our ideas and suggestions from the start and intelligently integrated them into the standard solution. With the advent of online commerce, IT support in the fashion industry has gained additional importance. And the same applies to Jeans Fritz,” remembers authorised officer Thorsten Heinrichsmeier. Since 2011, the Jeans-Fritz customers have also been able to easily order fashion from the chain store with just a click of the mouse. “Offline and online business are intelligently linked via the höltl cash register software. This enables you, for example, to buy using the Click & Collect option: order online, pick up in the branch,” says Heinrich Meier of situation. “Customers only have to pay for the goods when they pick them up. They can even try on the items first and do not have to buy everything they put online in the virtual shopping cart.” The procedure for returns is similarly flexible: The goods can be sent back as a package or taken back to a branch. Heinrichs Meier adds: “There has been and still is talk about these processes. This gives the impression that these are already part of everyday life in the industry. But that is not the case. The things that already work for us are usually more desirable than reality elsewhere.”

Branches centrally controlled 

Important for chain stores of a similar size to Jeans Fritz are software solutions that make it possible to centrally manage processes related to store management, such as price changes. The höltl software ConnectFlow is used here to centrally control marketing campaigns, merchandise management, and finance, among other things. The system also enables joint management of transactions in stationary branches and their forwarding to online shops. Important functions and services:

  • branch monitoring and branch management,
  • master data management,
  • cash reconfiguration,
  • promotion and promotion management,
  • multichannel architecture with full online capability VPN (VPN-based) and high reliability and
  • can be integrated into leading ERP and WWS systems.

“For example, we use ConnectFlow's promotion engine. This allows actions and promotions to be created and managed individually and very flexible based on shopping carts. Examples: ‘Buy 3 - pay 2’ or a discount on the purchase of several articles”, reported Heinrich Meier. The system also allows you to send sales notes (cross-selling). Important: All actions and promotions can be provided with terms, start times and end times. ConnectFlow also provides quick access to all business transactions (online and offline) at any time and enables immediate information on, among other things, stock levels, customers or voucher management.

Link online and offline more closely 

Asked about further plans, Heinrichsmeier refers to the expected further growth in online trading - with higher growth rates than in the store business. “The further integration of online shop and stationery business is becoming more and more important. Against this background, relaunching our online shop is at the top of our agenda. One of the most important details will be stock information that shows the customer what goods are in stock in each branch.”
